Clips: Will Wright Visits WSJ
Will Wright, who is apparently winning on New York City Rampage-style this week, hit up the Wall Street Journal to show off Spore.
Judging from the video, there were quite a number of higher-ups award for the demonstration. I´m not sure who all is in the audience, but I noticed Paul Steiger, the paper´s managing editor and a gamer, as well as Tom Weber, the paper´s Pursuits Editor. Who I intend was creating the abomination... I mean creature.
OK, here´s the carry on Will´s gotta ski, right? So the next time you´re visiting endearing Colorado, swing by the Stony Mountain News so we can make some Spore snow bunnies. Brian Crecente

Transfer of the Day: Adobe Reader 8 (Windows/Mac)
Windows and Mac only: Add more security to your documents, launch online meetings directly and more with Adobe Reader 8, the latest version of the omnipresent PDF viewer.
The most noticeable commute is the interface, which appears less littered and offers new surge pan and loupe features. You can customize the toolbars to your liking and take advantage of new markup and review tools. Reader 8 also promises faster 2D performance.
All good stuff, though Adobe should probably think twice astir touting "improved read-out-loud" capabilities: In my tests they were laugh-out-loud bad. Of course, all the new and improved features in the world won´t convince some users to give up Foxit Reader, a longtime Lifehacker favorite. Still-free Adobe Reader 8 requires Windows or Macintosh; a Linux version is in the works. — Rick Broida
